Dynamic Response Characteristics of Isolated-Span Transmission Lines After Ice-Shedding

Abstrakt: Numerical modeling methods for dynamic responses of isolated-span transmission lines with uniform and non-uniform ice accretions after whole and partial ice-shedding with and without wind load are proposed and experimentally validated by reduced-scale modeling tests. With the method, the dynamic responses of the transmission lines with various structural and load parameters are investigated. The dynamic response characteristic parameters of the lines after ice-shedding are extracted to create a dataset, with which the prediction model for the jump envelope, maximum transverse swing and tension of the conductor, and the maximum force on towers is created with the back-propagation (BP) neural network algorithm. A software is developed to provide an efficient means for the design of the electric insulation clearance and strength of transmission line in ice zones.
