Abstrakt: •Hydroxyurea adherence increased by 19.8% with a tailored mHealth intervention in people with SCD and adherence <80%.•mHealth boosts hydroxyurea adherence and is associated with reduction in self-reported pain and pain admissions rate in SCD.
