Abstrakt: •A total of 941 clinical isolates of Klebsiellain northern Japan were analyzed genetically.•Non-K1/K2, CG35 (ST268), was dominant among hypervirulent K. pneumoniae(hvKp).•ESBL genes were detected in only ST23 and CG35 (ST268, ST412) hvKp.•Wzifrom 237 isolates were grouped into two major clusters of KlebsiellaSpp.•Hypervirulence and antimicrobial resistance were rarely seen in K. variicola.
