Effect of Mg Substitution on Structural Stabilization of NaxMnO2Cathode for Na‐Ion Batteries

Abstrakt: NaxMg0.2Mn0.8O2‐cathode material for Na‐ion batteries is based on a NaxMnO2layered oxide substituted with Mg2+ions. This substitution stabilizes the crystal structure remarkably. Substitution of Mn with Mg also enhances the role of oxygen in constituting electronic states around the Fermi level and its role in the electrochemical process, leading to the improvement of its capacity.
