Abstrakt: In this study, Abarinov et al. describe how the transcription factor NKX2.2 affects tissue-specific transcriptional programs. They show that NKX2.2's NK2-specific domain is essential for its role in pancreatic β cell, but not neuroepithelial, development and function, providing insight into the etiology of early-onset diabetes.
