Netted Custard apple tree (Annona reticulataL.) showing typical phytoplasma symptoms of witches’-broom disease were collected from Patoli village in Dandeli Taluka of Karnataka, India. DNA extracted from samples was processed through PCR assay using 16S rRNA and Ribosomal protein (rp) specific primer pair. Analyzed sequences of both 16Sr RNA and rpgene shared highest nt identity (> 98%) phytoplasmas strains under ‘CandidatusPhytoplasma asteris’ (16SrI) group. RFLP patterns of isolates showed similarity coefficient 1 to the reference pattern of 16SrI-B subgroup. |
