Abstrakt: The literature has proposed many different practices without consensus on which one of them or a set of them constitutes the best HRM practice. The purpose of this paper is to develop a model that includes best HRM practices by examining all practices which have been developed in the literature. The focus group interview was performed with nine managers of HR department in the Jordanian private sector. The results indicated that career opportunities, compensation, HR planning, performance appraisal, promotion, recruitment and selection, training, and development are the best HRM practices. There are three implications for practice: 1) obtain talented employees in order to achieve the organisation's objectives by practices of HR planning, recruitment, and selection; 2) meet the requirements and needs of employees and motivating desired behaviour by the practice of compensation; 3) ensure the progress of employees by practices of career opportunities, performance appraisal, promotion, training.
