Understanding the impact of radiotherapy related insufficiency fractures and exploring satisfaction with two existing patient reported outcome measures: A qualitative interview study

Abstrakt: •Little research has been conducted to explore the impact of radiotherapy related insufficiency fractures on quality of life.•Qualitative interviews with patients identified four key themes: 1) Route to diagnosis, 2) management of radiotherapy related insufficiency fractures and 3) resilience which all had an impact on the final theme 4) quality of life.•The impact of RRIFs on quality of life is considerable. Participants highlighted key areas for improvement including the provision of more information, more access to support and improved management pathways.•Participants also highlighted the potential benefits of PROMs but suggested existing measures could be improved.
