Abstrakt: •Presence of OTA in foods intended for infants and young children is a significant concern.•New strategies to reduce OTA exposure from foods are needed.•Oxidative stress is a plausible mechanism of OTA-mediated toxicity.•Protective effect of α-tocopherol against OTA toxicity was investigated.•α-Tocopherol has a potential to reduce toxicity of OTA by reducing cytotoxicity.
