With the need to integrate green solutions in the construction industry, the design of curtain wall systems has become more relevant due to their tendency to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions in high-rise buildings. However, with the limited attention given to these systems' technical design practices, developing a more comprehensive framework for evaluating them is a current gap in the literature. To address this gap, this paper evaluates the technical design practices of a fully framed aluminium curtain wall in the Philippines using a purposive survey. Furthermore, the paper seeks to infer whether an association between the identified profile and design practices exists. This work contributes significantly to the current literature. It is the first to evaluate the technical design practices of curtain wall systems in the Philippines to the best of our knowledge. The findings in this study would be beneficial for stakeholders as they can be used to develop benchmarks for evaluating CWS in the country. |
