Abstrakt: Aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate and aluminum chloride inactivate pepsin even at a pH as low as 1.0 to 2.0. This is due in part to the inhibition of peptic digestion by aluminum ions. Magnesium trisilicate does not inactivate pepsin at such pH levels.
