Abstrakt: We are working to develop a torsional oscillator He II analogue of the r.f. SQUID to be used as a gyroscope, where ac and dc superflows through the sub-micron orifice used as weak-link are induced by a rotation. Two prototypes has been built by using a 0.4 μmdiameter orifice. It has been observed the occurrence of a dissipation in the oscillator motion, when the peak angular velocity is above a critical value. Its temperature dependence, measured between 1.23 and 2.05 K, is well accounted for by intrinsic vortices formation. Attempts of observing any staircase pattern and the apparatus rotation’s effect had negative results.
