Abstrakt: Intravenous injection of gossypol in swine increased the concentration of iron in the liver and bile and decreased the levels of hemoglobin and hematocrit. It is postulated that gossypol reacts with iron in the liver, and the iron-gossypol complex is then excreted via the bile.
