Abstrakt: •Night workers tend to eat at irregular times and to prefer high calorie-dense foods.•Short sleep duration was associated with greater animal protein intake.•No other associations of macronutrient intake and sleep parameters were found.•Total carbohydrate intake was greater on the day-off compared to the work-day.•Greater intake of carbohydrate occurred in later hours on the work-day and day-off.
