Distribution of Luminescence Centers and Trapping Centers in Ba13Al22Si10O66: Eu2+, Tm3+

Abstrakt: A large enhancement of bluish photo-stimulated luminescence (PSL) and long persistent luminescence (LPL) from Ba13Al22Si10O66(BASO): 0.5% Eu2+by co-doping 1% Tm3+was observed, the various depths of traps that Tm3+ions created have been confirmed on thermoluminescence spectra. The successful incorporation of Eu2+and Tm3+ions into the crystal lattice forming three luminescent centers: Eu7, Eu8, Eu9. Meanwhile the distribution of shallow traps and deep traps around the three luminescent centers is different, resulting in the distinguishing intensity degrees of Eu7, Eu8and Eu9in both PSL and LPL processes.
