Abstrakt: The convoluted crosstalk of non-coding RNA (ncRNA) and mRNA results in the regulation of pathogenic processes in coronary artery disease (CAD). We utilized an in silico approach to assess circular RNA (circRNA), microRNA (miRNA), and mRNA, as potential biomarkers for CAD. CircRNA pertaining to CAD, atherosclerosis, and myocardial infarction were extracted from two databases namely Circad and circR2Disease. miRNA target sites & RNA-binding protein interactions were predicted using the circRNAinteractome database. miRNA gene targets were predicted using TargetScan, DIANA, and miRDIP. Gene enrichment analysis revealed that circRNA-miRNA distinctively targets ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis pathways (p = 0.02). Dysregulated ubiquitin pathway is known to play a role in atherosclerotic plaque progression and instability.
