The prevalence of genetic testing has increased rapidly with the development of recent technologies and a better understanding of the human genome. Genetic testing allows for increased focus on precision medicine, which seeks to use an individual's genetic sequence to predict, diagnose, treat, or even prevent the incidence of specific diseases. Pharmacogenomics, an essential aspect of precision medicine, uses information gained from genetic testing to analyze drug-gene interactions and can improve patient outcomes by optimizing efficacy and mitigating adverse drug effects. |
