Developmental dental anomalies which occur during systemic diseases and general metabolic disturbances have been discussed. Because tooth development progresses in three stages, the anomalies of the teeth can be classified as: 1. Disturbance in growth (matrix formation); 2. Disturbance in maturation (calcification); 3. Disturbance in eruption. Disturbances in the pigmentation of teeth are included for the sake of completeness. |
