Abstrakt: 1.The nature of the damage produced by exposure to ionizing radiation has been discussed and it has been pointed out that the effects of most consequence, that is, those on the genetic material, are irreparable and should be avoided.2.Unfortunately, overexposure is the rule rather than the exception today during dental roentgenography.3.However, with the use of proper techniques, dental x-rays can be used in diagnosis without undue hazard to either the dentist or his patients.
