Elevated intrathoracic pressure could affect pulmonary vascular pressure measurements and influence pulmonary hypertension (PH) diagnosis and classification. Esophageal pressure (Pes) measurement adjusts for the increase in intrathoracic pressure, better reflecting the pulmonary hemodynamics in obese patients. |
