Abstrakt: This paper presents the results of a series of steam and water tests on sharp-edged thin-plate orifices preceded by a globe valve at various distances. Curves are given, showing the magnitude of change in indicated flow, when the approach piping is less than that recommended by the Joint AGA-ASME Committee on Orifice Meters. Comparative curves with the valve throttled also are given.
