Abstrakt: The fieldtrip is designed as a highlight tour through the Brunswick-Eastphalian part of the UNESCO Geopark Harz. Braunschweiger Land. Ostfalen. On the one hand it will show glimpses of the rich geological and cultural heritage of the region, on the other aspects of geo- and environmental education will be presented. The individual stops will include the Geopark Information Centre and the Erratic Boulder Garden at Königslutter, some geopaths, outcrops especially prepared for the public and simple points of geological interest. The stratigraphic spectrum covered includes the Lower and Middle Triassic (Buntsandstein and Muschelkalk), the uppermost Cretaceous (Maastrichtian), the Paleogene (Lower Eocene) and the Quaternary. Furthermore, aspects of geomorphology and nature conservation will be explained.
