Abstrakt: | Fortification of natural foods with amino acids to make them “adequate” in protein has been proposed in a number of quarters. Is such a procedure warranted in view of research findings on the requirements and recommended “safe” intakes of the various amino acids? Here is a review of current knowledge of the essential amino acid requirements of adult men and women. |
