Abstrakt: Characteristics of wavelength-tunable femtosecond (fs) soliton pulse generation using optical fibers in a negative dispersion region are investigated both experimentally and numerically. The extended nonlinear Schrödinger equation, in which the wavelength dependence of parameters is considered, is used to analyze the characteristics of widely wavelength-tunable soliton pulses. The wavelength of the soliton pulse can be almost linearly shifted from 1.56-1.86 µm for a 220 m fiber merely by varying the fiber-input power. Ideal mono-colored fs soliton pulses of 90-300 fs are generated stably, and the generated pulses are nearly transform-limited fundamental soliton pulses. The numerical results fit the experimental ones well. The numerical analysis revealed that the wavelength of the soliton pulse can be shifted up to 2.2 µm in this system.
