Ultrasonic Investigation on Gd75Sc25Single-Crystal Alloy with Antiphase Domain Structure

Abstrakt: Ultrasonic attenuation for Gd75Sc25erhibits a sharp peak at the higher ordering temperature of Tc=185 K, whose shape and intensity depend on the thermal history and magnetic field strength. The results are interpreted by means of an antiphase domain ferrimagnetic structure. A peak in attenuation at Tc1=77 K and another attenuation peak appearing in the intermediate temperature between Tcand Tc1under magnetic fields are also discussed.
