A New Single Layer Bubble Mode Optical Memory Using ICO-N Film (In-CH4-O2-N2Reactive Sputtered Film)

Abstrakt: A new single layer babble forming film, In-CH4-O2-N2reactive sputtered film, has been developed to a write-once recording film for a direct bonding disk such as substrate/recording film/resin adhesive layer/substrate. The 13mW of writing power was needed for obtaining 0.4 contrast ratio reading at 5.6m/sec disk linear velocity with 200nsec pulse width. This writing power is only 2mW higher than that for a resin uncoated, single sided disk.
