Abstrakt: Brunswick County Public Utilities evaluated several advanced water treatment alternatives to remove per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and other emerging contaminants. A desktop analysis and pilot study confirmed that low pressure reverse osmosis was the most effective technology for removal of PFAS. Previous expansion plans to meet growing demand were merged with the PFAS project to develop a single design and construction program.
