Abstrakt: In young athletes, patellofemoral pain is most commonly due to malalignment. This article reviews pertinent literature, discusses biomechanical factors affecting the patellofemoral joint, and describes in detail the evaluation and treatment process. Specifically, the authors approach patellofemoral evaluation and treatment from a functional and dynamic perspective. Immediate alteration of the athlete's symptoms is emphasized, and used as an indicator for rehabilitation potential.
