Abstrakt: •Stem diameter is the only appropriate variable in the estimations of fruit biomass.•Stem diameter has a linear relationship with the fresh fruit biomass of trees.•Fruit-based allometric equations are effective in quantifying fruit biomass.•Fruit-based equations can cause a prediction error up to five kilograms on a tree.•Larger trees (DBH > 11 cm) are more susceptible to fruit biomass prediction errors.
