Vascular anomalies of the nervous system are not unusual, but such abnormalities of the spinal cord especially in children are seldom seen. If 15 years of age is considered the upper limit of childhood, only 3 cases of vascular anomalies of the spinal cord in children have been found in the literature. The earliest is the well known case reported by Cobb1 from the clinic of Harvey Cushing. RÉSUMÉ OF CASES FROM THE LITERATURE Case 1 (Cobb1).—An 8 year old boy suddenly experienced a severe pain in the lower part of the back radiating into the lower part of the abdomen. He felt weak, became nauseated and vomited. After resting at home for four days he returned to school, but three days later he experienced the same pain again. He rolled about in agony.
