Abstrakt: Dietary phosphate restriction prevents renal function deterioration in animal models. This study examined whether sevelamer hydrochloride (Renagel(R); 'sevelamer' hereafter), a non-calcaemic phosphate binder could slow deterioration of renal function in rats with progressive renal insufficiency.
