Model of a Fuel Cell System Fueled by Hydrogen Generated from NaBH4 Considering Heat Balance in the Hydrogen Reactor

Abstrakt: The authors have proposed a hydrogen generation system fueled by sodium tetrahydroborate and named "STEPS". The hydrogen pressure in STEPS must be controlled so that it can follow the output power variation of an FC stack. However, the control method uses the temperature dependent gain. Therefore, the model considering the heat balance is constructed to make the simulation with higher accuracy. The model is constructed based on the heat balance equation in STEPS. This paper shows the model considering the heat balance. In addition, as a result of comparison between simulation and experimental results, it is shown that appropriate characteristics are obtained by using the model.
