Abstrakt: Tiered immunotoxicity testing strategies have been developed in both rats and mice. These tiered systems focus on the detection of compound-induced immunosuppression. Clinical relevance has clearly been demonstrated in the case of pharmaceuticals for which the primary aim is to induce immunosuppression in organ transplant recipients. Validation for pharmaceuticals is still ongoing.
