An examination of technology assessment activities in Vietnam concludes that they are shaped in the context of science and technology policy-making which is a politicised process. Technology and environmental impact assessment activities still lack clear conceptualisation, and are a long way from incorporating public participation. The products of technology policy-making and technology assessment are usually a compromise, and might be considered as the outcome of the mix of various policy cultures. |
