Abstrakt: The inheritance of resistance of corn (Zea maysL.) to maize dwarf mosaic virus was studied under conditions of natural infection. Progenies evaluated were parents, F1, F2, BC(P1), and BC(P2). Parental inbred lines utilized were Oh07 (resistant) and C103 (susceptible), and Oh07 (resistant) and Oh43 (highly susceptible). Resistance was largely dominant. An estimate of two to three genes for resistance was obtained from the Oh07 and C103 data with he possibility that two dominant genes for resistance may be contributed by the Ohm parent. A gene or genes for susceptibility were postulated to be contributed by inbred line Oh43 which lowered the incidence of resistance in certain progenies and also reduced the estimated number of genes for resistance.
