Abstrakt: Researchers have been interested in indirect methods of measuring soil frost penetration because direct methods require laborious digging that destroys the study area. Several indirect soil frost measuring techniques have been developed in the past. The use of commercially produced gypsum electrical resistance blocks has been established as one reliable technique. The research presented in this note will demonstrate that fabricated gypsum blocks are very accurate and durable enough to last several years in soil frost surveys in very acid soils.
