Dry matter accumulation and cellulose content of two alfalfa varieties increased with advancing maturity and increasing light intensity while crude protein and in vitrodigestibility decreased. Soluble carbohydrates were greatest under high light intensity with alternating day and night temperatures of 30° C. and 15° C., respectively. Dry matter accumulation was greatest under high temperature and high light intensity, but digestibility was lower as temperature increased. |
