Abstrakt: The feeding of a laboratory chow containing 325 mg of aspirin per kg diet to CBA mice inoculated with a murine sarcoma virus (Moloney) resulted in a decrease in tumor incidence and severity of disease. The mode of action of aspirin in this system is not known but it probably does not act by a mechanism involving the release of ACTH as has been suggested for some of the actions of aspirin, since administration of ACTH to virus-inoculated mice had an opposite effect, i.e., it increased the severity of disease.
