| Abstrakt: | 125I therapy has been given to 297 thyrotoxic patients on the basis that the inhomogeneity of the irradiation damage might reduce the incidence of post-radiation hypothyroidism. Three dosage groups were used, 1000, 600, and 300 μCi being administered per gramme of thyroid. After a follow-up extending to 4 years the hypothyroid rates were 39, 34, and 18% respectively. 125I therapy, although effective in the control of thyrotoxicosis, has so far no advantage over 131I therapy. |
