Abstrakt: In the frog, the coelomic cilia propel ovulated ova to the ostia of the oviducts. By removing alternate oviducts and/or ovaries and inducing them to spawn, an attempt was made to determine the occurrence of bilateral specificity in these ciliary tracts. Other suitable experimental groups, with both oviducts intact; with both ovaries and only left oviduct intact; with both oviducts and only right ovary intact and only left oviduct and left ovary intact were used in these studies. The spawning reaction indicates that the eggs of one half of the peritoneal cavity do not reach the ostium of the oviduct of the opposite side.
