Abstrakt: Antimicrobials at subtherapeutic levels in pig diets are as effective in promoting growth rate and improving efficiency now as they were in the past. In addition, they improve reproductive performance and reduce mortality. The combined benefits are cost effective. Evidence indicates that the magnitude of the antimicrobial response is greater in commercial swine farm environments than in experiment station environments.
