13C and 1H NMR spectra of cyclopropane on various supported platinum catalysts were obtained. They showed that cyclopropane was specifically adsorbed on platinum and that the cyclic character of the molecule was preserved. The NMR spectra were interpreted in terms of the ring-current model and suggested a ring expansion of cyclopropane adsorbed on platinum. |
