Abstrakt: The process presented interrelates a positive, systematic plan for evaluation of nursing faculty with an individualized program of personal and professional development. This uniform process, which makes use of self, peer, student, and administrative inputs, has made faculty far less apprehensive of and therefore more amenable to evaluation. The evaluation process is not only used as a basis for decisions regarding salary increase, retention, promotion, and tenure, but also for assessment, development, and enrichment of each faculty member's ongoing potential.
