Gastroduodenal disorders in children

Abstrakt: New information relating to the stomach and duodenum of the infant and child can be categorized as growth and development, motility, and inflammation. This article highlights developmental aspects of gastric and duodenal mucosal structure and function, and maturational aspects of motility. Considerable attention is given to recent studies of Helicobacter pylori infection in children, broadening our understanding of pediatric populations most at risk for this infection.
