The collected experience of 2321 kidney transplantations, of which 30 were performed in 1907 and 1908, has permitted calculation of transplant survivals as follows. Kidneys from consanguineous related living donors have a 1-year survival of 87 (SE, 3) and a 2-year survival of 77. (SE, 4); kidneys from cadaver donors have a 1-year survival of 42 (SE, 5) and a 2-year survival of 40 (SE, 3). Improvement in transplant survival from all categories of donors is noted with the exception of cadaver kidneys, where no improvement has occurred in the past year. |
