The body burden of cesium-137 was measured with the whole body counter and the results averaged 3.9 nc in March and April 1961 and 4.2 nc in August 1962. The measured results were compared with the dietary intake of Japanese and the value of fwwas obtained as about 0.9, assuming that the biological half life of cesium-137 in the human body was known. Furthermore, five subjects were measured for their body burden and daily urinary excretion of cesium-137. The results were 4.2 nc and 18 pc/day respectively, and the value of fuwas obtained as 0.7 for the same effective half life. |
