Abstrakt: It is often the case that a majority of pregnant women have not been infected previously by Toxoplasma gondii, but the risk of new infection during pregnancy is low. In this setting, neonatal screening is an alternative to prenatal screening. Experience in two ongoing neonatal screening programs for congenital T. gondiiinfection, conducted in New England and Denmark, was reviewed.
