Abstrakt: Obesity is determined by genetic, environmental, and behavioral factors acting through the physiological mediators of energy intake and energy expenditure. The aim of this study was to define the most characteristic clinical, genetic, anthropometric, and laboratory findings in childhood obesity in an attempt to find the most efficient way to diagnose a genetic cause of obesity. An accurate diagnosis will provide proper genetic counseling concerning the nature, inheritance, recurrence risk, and implications of the disease on health status.
