| Abstrakt: | The therapeutic value of increasing the daily dietary fibre intake was assessed over 3 months in a double-blind controlled trial of 18 patients. Significantly greater symptomatic relief was obtained by those on a high fibre regimen than by those in the control group, despite a marked initial placebo effect. The effectiveness of a high-fibre diet increased over the 3-month period. |
