For the first time 40Ar and 20Ne ions were detected by a MOS-structure thin film breakdown counter (TFBC). The detection efficiency of TFBC for 40Ar ions is 100% (for perpendicular incidence). The possibility of detecting lighter ions by TFBCs is discussed. |
